Austin Meade

Doors 7 PM | Show 8 PM

Ages 14+

Thanks to his metal- and classic-rock loving dad, Meade got to see bands like Judas Priest and worshipped Whitesnake. In junior high he related to the intense emo-rock of Paramore and Fall Out Boy, and the power of songwriters like John Mayer. Yet, thanks to plainspoken but deep heartland songwriters like Tom Petty, and cutting his teeth touring in the Texas and Oklahoma Red Dirt scene, Meade’s music overflows with wide-open soulfulness. He was a drummer for years, even teaching to pay the bills, but Meade found his true voice when he began playing guitar as a teen in his pastor-father’s church. Those experiences lend both a gravitas and rebelliousness to Meade’s songs and self. Now the frontman of his own band slinging guitar licks with expert precision, his music rolled out with two releases in 2014, his first EP “Long Ways To Go” followed by his first full-length album “Chief Of The Sinners.” His next EP “Heartbreak Coming” came in 2016 with a couple of singles to announce his commencement on the Texas Music Chart, followed by his second full-length album “Waves” in 2019. In 2021, Meade introduced his third LP ‘Black Sheep’ including the hit
tracks “Happier Alone,” “Cave In,”‘Dopamine Drop,” and “Deja Vu.” Meade released his fourth LP ‘Abstract Art Of An Unstable Mind’ fall of 2022, further showcasing his ability to seamlessly blend genres into a groovy yet piercingly fresh sound of rock ‘n’ roll. Now comes for a new era ushering in Meade’s latest rock EP ‘Pretty Little Waist’ featuring singles “Blackout,” released with Danny Worsnop of Asking Alexandria, Stoner Fantasy, and “Insignificant Other” featuring Sam Canty and Lance Vanley of Treaty Oak Revival.

Billy Bob Thornton & The Boxmasters

Doors 6 PM | Show 7 PM

Ages 14+

Opening Performance by Fran Moran & The Nervous Wrecks

In conjunction with the release of their newest album on July 11th, “Pepper Tree Hill”, The Boxmasters will follow by kicking off a tour of the United States in August. This marks their 19th release as the ever-prolific J.D. Andrew and Bud Thornton showcase their love as always for the sounds of the sixties and the inspiration of their studio on an album called “Pepper Tree Hill.”

“Abbey Road was the studio the Beatles recorded their album “Abbey Road” in and are a huge influence on us,” says Bud. “In a way , since our studio is called Pepper Tree Hill , you could say this is our Abbey Road and you can hear odes to our influences the British Invasion including the Beatles, Badfinger, The Kinks etc.”

Joining The Boxmasters on the title cut “Pepper Tree Hill” is the legendary trumpeter and bandleader Herb Alpert. “I talked to Herb on the phone and he asked what we were up to and told him we were recording a new album and he said to send him a song. He sent it back right away with an immediately recognizable part that you instantly know is Herb Alpert.” Says Bud.

Also joining on the song “Pepper Tree Hill” is longtime collaborator and Boxmaster alum Brad Davis. “Brad was out at the studio while we were working on another album with him and we thought that “Pepper Tree Hill” would be a great song to have him play guitar on and of course he played an amazing part.” Says J.D.

Aside from the song “Pepper Tree Hill”, the rest of the album contains all of the familiar sounds of the sixties that The Boxmasters are fond of. Jangly guitars, Mellotrons, and solid backbeats drive the songs about nostalgia, hope, happiness and with the title song “Pepper Tree Hill,” a salute to the creative atmosphere that The Boxmasters thrive in.

The “2025 Pepper Tree Hill Tour” starts in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on August 20th and ends in Los Angeles on October 19th. Some familiar stops like in Kansas City at Knuckleheads, and Tomball, TX at Main Street Crossing are joined by 5 nights at the Bourbon and Bonfire weekends in Livingston, Montana and many other new towns and venues across the country.

Formed in 2006, The Boxmasters have recorded an impressive and diverse catalogue of music that touches on their love of a wide array of influences, but most importantly, the rock and roll of the 1960’s. Listening to The Boxmasters, one can hear obvious odes to the Beatles, Byrds and Beach Boys, but also important to The Boxmasters are The Mothers of Invention, The Allman Brothers, Kris Kristofferson, John Prine and Big Star.

As a touring band, The Boxmasters have cultivated a rabid cult fanbase across the United States, Canada and now Europe and the United Kingdom. Opening for the likes of ZZ Top, Steve Miller, George Thorogood and Bubbles and The Sh*t Rockers, The Boxmasters have proven to win over large audiences. As a headliner, frequent stops in Kansas City at “Knuckleheads”, Los Angeles at “The Troubadour” and in Sellersville, PA at the “Sellersville Theater” have shown dedicated yet still growing audiences. Two appearances at Levon Helm’s “Midnight Ramble” in Woodstock, New York were highlight performances for the band, as well as the “Ramble at The Ryman” that Levon hosted in 2008. Other highlights include The Boxmasters performing on “The Grand Ole Opry” in 2015, and in 2023 The Boxmasters fulfilled a life-long dream of playing The Cavern Club in Liverpool.

Dave Mason

Doors 5 PM | Show 7 PM

Ages 14+

Dave Mason’s career spans half a century and encompasses producing, performing, and song writing.

Fans and critics alike hail Dave as one of the most talented songwriters and guitarists in the world – which is why he is still performing over 100 shows a year to sold-out crowds.

Mason has been playing guitar most of his life. By 15, Dave had founded two bands: The Deep Feeling, and The Hellions. At 18, the Worcester, England native teamed up with Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, and Chris Wood to form the legendary band Traffic. At 19, Mason penned the song “Feelin’ Alright”. The rock anthem, first recorded by Traffic and then covered by dozens of other artists (including Joe Cocker), cemented both Dave’s and Traffic’s legacy, and had a profound influence over rock music that continues today.

Dexter and The Moonrocks

Doors @ 7 PM | Show @ 8 PM

All Ages

Presented by X103.9

Opening Performance by Red Leather.

“We realized that oil workers like to listen to Alice In Chains, and the goth kids like Tyler Childers so why couldn’t we do both? And so we did, and it worked so well.”– James Tuffs, lead singer, Dexter and the Moonrocks.

It most definitely worked out well. A former fry cook, oil field operator, concrete surface decorator and kids’ baseball coach met up in a small town in West Texas and started playing country western music together (as one does in small town West Texas). But something didn’t feel right – so their roots in country began to cross-pollinate with the rock and grunge music they heard their parents playing at home.

Meanwhile, as they honed their identity as a band, their drummer, Fox, (the baseball coach) took the helm of their social media, exponentially growing their followers. But they quickly proved they weren’t just building a passive online community: their streams started to sharply increase, and their shows started selling out. Curious followers became fans of the music. Two years later, with 675,000 TikTok followers and more than 50 million streams, Dexter and the Moonrocks have become something none of them ever, in a million years, dreamed possible.

“Coming from a town with only 700 people and regularly selling that many tickets in cities allover the nation is insane,” says Tuffs.

“Beats the hell outta a pulling unit,” says bassist Ty Anderson (the former oil field operator).

But it wasn’t just the guys in the band who couldn’t believe what was happening. The band had caught the attention of Severance Records, a newly launched Nashville-based imprint of Big Loud Rock. The rapidly growing fanbase on social media coupled with more frequent sold-out shows convinced the label to sign the band as their flagship act.

Through Severance, Dexter and the Moonrocks will release “Western Space Grunge,” an EP including the lead single “Sad In Carolina,” an angsty rock track growing quickly at alternative radio.

“Grunge and country are honestly so similar,” says Fox. “Look at Johnny Cash’s cover of ‘Hurt’ by Nine Inch Nails. Both speak to the oppressed and the depressed–country with twang and grunge with a bite. A pair of boots can mean cowboy or combat. We are huge fans of artists like Zach Bryan, Tyler Childers and Noah Kahan – and when you take that sound and plug it into amps with electric guitars, you get Dexter and the Moonrocks.”

“We took a bet on ourselves, and it’s paying off immensely,” he continues. “We believed we had something special, and if we could just get people to pay attention they’d fall in love, and we did just that.”

“It feels like a fever dream, and it’s definitely helped the health of my knees,” says Ty’s cousin guitarist Ryan Anderson, who never plans to decorate concrete again.
